Hello! If you are completely new to my writing, the best place to start is either with the 'Thursday Next' series or the 'Nursery Crime' Series.
If you opt for the former there are five books so far: The Eyre Affair, Lost in a Good Book, The Well of Lost Plots, Something Rotten and First Among Sequels If you opt for the latter, The Big Over Easy was published in 2005 with the second, The Fourth Bear, released in the summer of 2006. It's best to read the 'Thursday Next' series in order, the 'Nursery Crime' Series less so. You can find some shortened precis by clicking HERE to see if it's your bag. |

The next book to be published will be the paperback version of First Among Sequels which is available in July 2008. The next book after that, which for confusioning purposes is not a Next book or an NCD book, is called Shades of Grey, which will be published in July 2009 in both the US and the UK. If you want to know what's happening after that, it will either be the sixth in the Thursday Next series One of Our Thursdays is Missing or the third in the NCD trilogy, entitled The Last Great Tortoise Race I am deep in writing at the moment but details of my upcoming events and talks can be found on my appearances page. News is posted on my What's New? page, and my entire site is indexed at Index Pages (Complex) and at Index Page (simple) There is a Nursery Crime website at nurserycrime.co.uk which features, amongst other things, a 'Special Features' section with a "Making Of" wordamentary and deleted scenes. Whilst we're on the subject the First Among Sequels Special Features page can be accessed from here. |

Other news: Goliath Merchandising is now selling new illustrations by Maggy Roberts as well as The Fourth Bear in paperback. So you can now buy my latest book, previous paperbacks, mugs and caps as well as new Acme, Jurisfiction, SpecOps, Toast, Porridge and other T Shirts at criminally low prices. German and French editions of Well of Lost Plots are now on sale in all good German and French bookshops and Lost in a Good book is available in Italian.
See my bookshelf pages for all editions of my books How to use this site: Explore, generally. At the top of each page are links that take you to the various sections of my site. There is a contents page which is a good place to start although mousing around from the header is as good a way as any. If you get lost there is a Fforde Grand Central which is pretty easy to figure out, and an index for more in-depth browsing. All press releases and changes are on my what's new? page which is probably where you should go if you are a returning browser - all changes on the site are logged there. |
| Happy browsing!. |
