The MUSEUM is definitly worth a visit, not least for its excellent Bayeux Tapestry replica on the top floor and a superb collection of Roman artifacts, many of which were found at nearby Silchester. Also not-to-be-missed are the sumptuous country homes of Basildon and Cliveden, and mention should also go to Thorpe Park and Legoland, if you've got kids who like that sort of thing (mine do).
