Jurisfiction Wizard
Ever since I was a young girl,
I've jumped into the page
From Fielding down to Pratchett
I done books from every age
But I ain't seen nothing like her
One glance was all it took
That new Thursday Next kid
Sure reads a real mean book!
She moves like an angel,
Becomes part of the text
Feeling all the adjectives
She’s cool, that Thursday Next
She reads by intuition,
In control at ev’ry stage
That new kid from Swindon
Sure reads a real mean page!
She's a Jurisfiction wizard
There has got to be a twist,
A Jurisfiction wizard,
Could read a shopping list
'How do you think she does it? I don't know!
What makes her so good?'
She ain't got no experience
She’s just a LiteraTec,
Just started as apprentice
But can she read – by heck!
Always gets the page right,
lands on the right line
That new Thursday Next kid
Sure reads a book real fine!
Tweed thought he was
The Jurisfiction king
But she’s just taken
The Book Jump crown from him
Even in my usual fiction
She can beat my best
Needs two lines to read her in
And she just does the rest
She's got crazy jumping talent
Never seen her lose the plot
That cool Thursday Next kid
Sure seems to have the lot!
