<HTML>The previous thread gives me an idea.

Christmas lunch anyone ?

Dave and I are thinking of lunching out in Leeds - probably Thurs 19th.

Does anyone want to join us ? I guess Adam and Jon are closest but
the more the merrier...</HTML>

<HTML>Well there's a really nice noodle bar (which is close to the station)
although I'm easy...

(and I'll eat anything)</HTML>

<HTML>Ooh. Damn. Can't come. Working - and my work is a lot nearer Manchester than Leeds! I may send the brother as a p(r)oxy!

Have fun, whoever goes.</HTML>

<HTML>Noodle bar? I've never been to one of those before. Still, I'll try anything once as long as there's a vegetarian option.

Before anyone panics, I am not thinking of bringing Minsky. Intelligent though he is, he can't be trusted to behave himself anywhere near food if he decides he might like it...</HTML>

<HTML>Cool n groovy. Tampopo does do veggie options I'm sure. The more the merrier!

I did mean to ask, as Rob and I discussed it the other day, but forgot. Ooops.</HTML>

<HTML>btw Jon, if you're working that day, is there another day when you're not? Perhaps we could reschedule? I'm kinda stuck to mon-friday as we're busy at weekends, but I'm sure I could manage a different day...</HTML>

<HTML>Stepping lightly over the unsavoury debris from the last post, I can say that a) the brother, when informed of this event in the Swan earlier, expressed an interest in attending, and b) I have to work all mons to fris until the new year (except xmas week) on account of having used up all my holidays on a slightly ill-advised excursion to Crete. (Ill-advised from the financial point of view, that is; as a holiday, it was pretty good). I shall check the diary, but as far as I can see, unless I can blag a visit to a customer near Leeds, I wouldn't be able to make it on a weekday. And don't ask about next years hols... apparently they're all accounted for ....</HTML>

<HTML>does anyone else find it ironic that Ben's newly shortened screen name sounds like "pissed"? That combined with his love of the suds and full screen name, Poet Scientist Drinker?

Luv ya Ben, just pickin'</HTML>

<HTML>The only reason Ben's as PSD is because I was too lazy to type it all and I'd come in using my name

(oh right, and I refused to give him the keyboard LOL)</HTML>

<HTML>Would there be any objection to my bringing a friend along? It may or may not happen in the end because he's not sure what he's doing (er, story of his life, actually), but a) I'm trying to get him to read Fforde to help him relax, b) it'll be his birthday and he won't go out and celebrate if someone doesn't encourage him to do it, and c) he's got a car. He's suitably insane, though, so he should fit in very nicely. This is the chap who's writing about Bung the Gnome Detective.</HTML>

<HTML>As mentioned earlier I'm up for a spot of lunch, I have a few questions though....

Where exactly is "close to the station"?
What time do we meet?
Do I have to wear a carnation in my buttonhole?</HTML>

<HTML>Close to the station = South Parade. Out of the station, straight ahead up Park Row, South Parade is on the left, then Tampopo is on the left again. About 5 minutes walk.

Time = We'd said 1pm, but that's open to debate. I'm going to try and wangle a longer lunch hour...

Carnation = err, whatever butters your badger. So long as you know the secret handshake and password, you'll be fine.

And feel free to bring a friend/dodo/cat.</HTML>
