Christopher Robin is having a (FX: phone rings)

"What? Disney? Only you are allowed to muck about with the words of Saint AA of Milne? And that was obviously going to be rude? Right. Okay. No, no bother. No, won't do it again. No, Thank you. I know where I live. Oh, you do to? That's great. Bye."

Sorry, this couplet has been delayed due to lawyers on the line.</HTML>

<HTML>Actually, you're not as far off as you may think.

Disney actually does send people into bakeries to try to order a cake with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or some such character on it. It's illegal to reproduce copyrighted characters for retail sale, and if it's recognizable to the average person it's considered a reproduction. If the bakery agrees to make the cake, they can be fined thousands of dollars.

You can make the cake mind you, you just can't sell it. They even make cake pans shaped like Disney characters, but they're for "home use only", meaning you can make a cake for your son with it, but you can't sell a cake made in it (legally).
The only legal way to put copyrighted characters on a cake is by either buying plastic toys to put on the cake, or buying edible images to lay over the icing.</HTML>
