A Super Thursday Next Year?

<HTML>Ffound this whilst searching around on the Net.

<b> [NHSTETC] Call for Super Thursday Hosts </b>

<i> Attention New Hampshire Technology Coordinators and Library/Media
Specialists </i>

Would you host a Super Thursday Next year? NHSTE invites you to do so.

The rest of the article is <a href="http://listserv.plymouth.edu/pipermail/nhstetc/2001-July/000490.html"> here </a>

Yeah, so maybe it's not what we might like, but it still tickled my fancy nonetheless.

Merry New Year,
Sarah B.</HTML>

<HTML>Incidentally, I also found an alarming number of references to 'thursday next week'.

Perhaps we should endeavour to find out exactly when this week is? I suggest looking for the week that most reports get handed in by - the thursday next week is apparently the best week in the year for handing in reports, posting competition entries etc. How odd.

Plock.
Sarah B.

PS Yes, I'm mad. But never mind.</HTML>

<HTML>Everyone on this fforum is entirely sane.

(You know what's coming next, don't you?).

For a given value of 'sane'.

(See, you were right).</HTML>

<HTML>Reckon that qualifies me as a clairvoyant, now, where did I leave Mrs Blair's phone number, my dubiously-historied partner has a couple of flats to flog....</HTML>

<HTML>Love the way that the provisos of hosting a 'Super Thursday' appear to be A) It must be on a Thursday and B) They must be able to call it 'Super Thursday'.

Rightyo...</HTML>

<HTML>H'mmm. Well, speaking as the ex-ChronoGuard round here (see the threads "TNN", "Sprout curry", "French Revisionists exposed" and "On the trail of Jacques Merde" for the full very silly story), I reckon this is my department. Along with my faithful cat, I shall get straight onto the "Thursday Next Week" case just as soon as we've finished nailing Chris Crustacean. If you'd all like me to, that is... wouldn't want to bore anyone...</HTML>

<HTML>Oh, no, no danger of you boring anyone Sarah (er... the other Sarah .. not the one who started this thread ...). What would bore me is having to sit through three plocking hours of The Two Towers again .... aaagh, no, anything but that ... the clunking dialogue, the comedy dwarf, the gratuitous plot-changes, the skateboard, and worst of all, Aragorn falling in the water (why?) and having that extended dream-sequence (double why?).

And when the travellers entered into Meduseld, King Theoden greeted them, and spake thuswise; "I can do dat," he said; "gissa job."</HTML>

<HTML>I wasn't overly impressed either. I can see why certain things were done, but it played merry hell with my suspension of disbleief (available from all good chemists...)</HTML>

<HTML>More of a snowboard than a skateboard, technically (since it hadn't any wheels).

I saw the movie Thursday, and for some odd reason kept looking for a cat in Fangorn and during the battle at Helms Deep. I obviously don't have the vision of an elf, since I failed to spot Minsky.</HTML>

<HTML>Hehe.

I wasn't too taken with it either - far too long for my tastes.

I can see the multiple Sarah thing becoming a problem soon, but I shall try not to get too confused.

We could host a 'Super Thursday' I guess. Here we are, look it's Thursday and well, she's pretty super. Landen thinks so at any rate. Do you think we'd qualify?

(does a Legolas impression and surfs off down the steps in search of an application form for a 'Super Thursday Next Year')</HTML>

<HTML>Multiple sarahs?? Kinky!!
As to thursday being the day things get handed in- I can confirm that it was so at my Uni, and also Thursday was the day that all the Christian UNion (youth groups for well-intenetioned naieve young people) met on a thursday at every school I've ever been to. Most odd.</HTML>

<HTML>Thursdays are busy for me too. Thursday evenings are when I practice medieval and reniassance song and dance (not usually simultaneously). The small madrigal choir I'm in rehearses Thursdays from 7-9, and dance practice runs from 8-11 (so I'm always an hour late).</HTML>

<HTML>Thursday is work night for me, as well as clarinet quartet and singing lessons.

Why, I wonder, does all this work gravitate to Thursday? She must have a work-magnetic personailty (and a strong back from having all this stuff on her).</HTML>

<HTML>Uni? Handing work in? So that's what I forgot...

Thursdays remind me of comedy programmes on BBC Two way back in the mid-90's, and more recently the traditional meeting day of my friends down the pub.

See - I do have some!</HTML>

<HTML>Which? Friends, or memories of the mid-90s?</HTML>

<HTML>Both!

The mid-nineties were great! - no girlfriend, job, plenty of time spent just reading books and irritating people...

How things change, eh?</HTML>

Plock.

And that's all folks.</HTML>
