<HTML>Thanks!...nothing witty coming to mind...have spent almost all day reading threads, I need time to recover and can see I will have to exercise intellectual muscles that haven't moved for ages, if I am to keep up! Still looking for one that contains details of JFf encounter. Has anyone met him?</HTML>

<HTML>I am an interested 'lurker'. I like the 'Nextian experiences' idea. There's enough creativity and technical know-how amongst to make it work. Count me in on the 'creative input' side, not so good at technical. I think it would be great!</HTML>

<HTML>Well, consider this a vote for "Whatever Next", and as for creative talent, oops, not here, I do have a bit of techy skills though. And I can try my hand at editing/proofing/etc.</HTML>

<HTML>Lol

One vote here for 'Whatever Next'

Also, I'll proof read stuff. However, I'm terribley bad at thinking up good jokes, so best not ask me to write anything. ;)

Um, hey Vanessa! I don't write anything much witty either, and they ahven't chucked me out yet.

Is there any way to find out how many people are registered on this Fforum? Then we would know exactly how many lurkers we have, and could force confessions out of them...

Um, right, yeah. Go for the Newsleter. And who cares if it's not all completely relevant? Since when has the Fforum been completely relevant?</HTML>

<HTML>Right, time for a masterplan.

I'm quite happy to edit the bugger if nobody else wants the job. Any dissent? No? Job's mine then. I reckon that proves I'm megalomaniac enough to do for now, anyway. We've also got enough proofreaders to actually outnumber the potential readership, which may be a first in the world of publishing. We need to set up an email address for contributions and requests for copies to go to - any ideas where would be suitable for this? This way we can leave all the addresses on that one account and nobody messes up their inbox.

I reckon the thirteenth should be the publishing date as there is never a thirtheenth chapter in the books, and make it monthly. This is enough time for people to write something decent, but just about regular enough to keep a rhythm going. Jon has already offered to host current editions, and I'm sure we can find somewhere else to store back issues. The size of the first edition should be four sides of A4, with a view to exapnding this to fit material.

I'd quite like to get a first - trial - copy out this month, if we can get the stuff quite quickly. Thus I would like...

Somebody artistic to design a banner for the title with some kind of Nextain bent to it, and if possible I'd love to see a dodo cartoon strip - especially if it was amusing.

Some articles - leave/claim ideas below please! I've got an article I'd like to write already, but a few more wouldn't hurt. Some ideas include -

problem page for characters from literature
Things to do in Swindon when you're dead (bored)
Recipes for extinct animals (they do exist out there somewhere)

I'd also like a volunteer to write some kind of Nextian Diary column - what's coming out, any good comments from reviewers, Nextian nuggets, random quotes from literature, and pointless pisstaking etc.

Could somebody write an account of the Nextain meetings so far please?

In terms of length - work to 750 words for most articles and don't be afraid to come in way under this total. If it's really huge it'lll be viciously pruned.

Finally, on the technical side. Does anybody fancy subbing parts of it? Sub-editing in this case bmeaning I'll pass an article or page over to you and ask you to sort out grammar, spelling and some of the phrasing.

Any complaints, comments - below. Any articles can come to me for now, but I'll be setting up an email account pretty soon. And once it's looking like a goer then I'll start a new thread announcing it for all the lurkers and with details of when I need submissions etc - and what help I need.

This could get very scary...</HTML>

<HTML>Oh, go on then. I'll volunteer to do some subbin'. And can I claim the problem page for literary characters please ...only it won't be a whole page ... more like a little bit of one. I can probably churn out a couple of other bits as well. Being quite underemployed at the mo and all.

Word of warning to budding web designers. My jolly hosts at AOL do not support fancy dan things like Front Page extensions, Flash etc etc, so keep it simple folks.

I shall be interested to see how this turns out.</HTML>
