My question:

Is there any book that you hold in such a sacred regard that you wouldn't let Thursday go into it and 'mess around', as it were, with the story?

Not that she means to, but you know how she is...

Mildred says "Ploik." But then I'd expect her to.

- Are you planning a 5th book?

-Why don't you tour in Saskatchewan Canada *hint*?

-Would you be weirded out if you met someone who changed there last name to next?

-Whose your favorite author?

Psst... Stacey... this thread was posted in 2003. The interview is posted here http://whatevernext.jasperffordeffanclub.com/archives/april2003/JFF-interview-part1.html

But... to answer your first question The Forth Bear is coming out next month, and the next Next is alledgedly "The Great Samuel Pepys Fiasco" sometime in the future.

I thought he was going to have one called The Next Best Thing? I seem to recall him saying that, but I could be wrong...

Nope, I think that was one of the abandoned titles for Something Rotten.

And to answer another question, I don't know if anyone has changed their name to Next, but there has been at least one baby named Thursday!

I think he said he might actually use it one of these days...
