I hereby claim this territory for the People's Republic of Sardonia. I have a flag.

Well done. What is it? An overcooked sardine rampant?

I have one I can sell you.

On another subject entirely, I just read the blurb and I'd like to say 'the cut and thrust world of international Chiropody'? If there's a thrusting Chiropodist in the book I may have to wait for Nursery Crimes, some things are just too scary... and one of my best friends is a Chiropodist, I can see I'll have to take a scalpel with me next time I visit him.

HTH.

So that's what the fishy smell is in here. Oh well, as long as it's there...

<slaps Ali with the rampant sardine>

Here's your 34p, love. You were great. ;-)

It's the sauce, what can I say?

*hits Nicky with the sardine*

Cheers, love.

*fries up sardine and eats it, as I am terribly hungry right now*

Do you get free sardine if you move to Sardonia....??????

(And complimentary coffee, I hope)

Oh dear, that was our last one, too. It had been around the block a few times and was looking a little green about the gills, but the maggots were really friendly when you got to know them.

Nice to see you all discussing the intricacies of TBOE in this dedicated forum...

Absolutely. We're so dedicated that we had to contribute something and, erm, we haven't quite read the book yet...

In the *other* forums we get cake. Please don't tell me that in this one, we pass out fish!

The cake went stale, and then the ants carried off the crumbs. Sorry.

Don't worry there's enough strawberries to go round. Ali gets first pick because she asked (and has been hankering after them for years). Only the alpine strawbs left but they're tasty just rather small.

On my most recent jaunt (to sunny Newfoundland) I had some rather excellent strawberry wine (although it wasn't as nice as the bakeapple wine).

Hmmmm. TBOE does seem rather lacking in distinctively mentioned foodstuffs. We'll just have to improvise.

Would anyone care for an omellette?

Rob, there's an offy down the road from me that sells a variety of nice fruit wines, as well as bottles of not-quite-as-nice turnip wine. Which I'm tempted to get some, as I've forgotten how weird it tastes.

So, let me get this straight, in this place known as Sardonia, you get free sardines and a bottle of turnip wine just for showing up? (I bet that lot's got a dreadfully sardonic outlook on life.)
