Either that or I'm reading it from an alternate dimension, where it did.

Yes, it's like fluoride but you can make bread with it as well. Or perhaps I can't sple.

If we keep feeding him lines like that, what are we to expect? ;-)

What's that you say Flipper? There's someone trapped down the old opal mine?

Er - no, hang on, that's wrong isn't it .... (but I'd have gotten away with it if wasn't for that pesky dolphin)

Arf! Arf!

Surely Flipper investigating mineshafts in the Australian desert would have been much more interesting than the crap they used to put on before 'Going Live' on a Saturday (am I showing my age here?)...

I can just imagine the scene:

The Australian Outback, red, empty, dust-filled land all around. In it a pick-up with a big tank of water on the back.

Aussie Bloke: What's that Flipper, mate? Your highly developed sonar tells you there's a load of miners stuck at the bottom of that old hole? You better get down there and investigate, Flip

FX: Splash of Dolphin jumping out of tank.
I

FX: Whsitling noise of a large fish shaped object falling.
I

FX: Whistle of falling + sound of dolphin panicking.

FX: SPLAT!

Aussie Bloke: Aw, bugger, Flip...

Maybe this explains why Shane Warne started taking strange pills his mum gave him (and isn't that the worst excuse since 'My Mum forgot to pack my games kit'? Maybe we should make him play in his underwear as a punishment...) - after all he was always good at tossing Flippers.

An Aussie bloke would say 'Bugger', never 'Bollocks'. Ask Warney. Shane Warne has been suspended for 12 months...as if that is going to stop him from making an arse of himself.

It'll make a change from him making an arse out of the english cricket team...

In the Gurnaria this morning there was a list of suggestions for perfomrance enhancing things that should be banned from sport. Sugestions included cricket bats, in order to even it up a bit, and champagne to stop the buggers celebrating...

Not really a new topic; just a comment. Re. LIAGB and WOLP, Harris Tweed was a grossly incompetent detective in one of the comics (Beano, Dandy, something like that) in my childhood - which is a jolly long time ago, entitling me to one of Gran's 'fuzzy moments' now and again.

That's an interesting detail, although _ given how well the name fits into the Nextian Earth's unusual-by-our-standards style of nomenclature _ it's probably just coincidental. Check your entroposcopes, everybody...

By the way, Arjay, I don't recall seeing your name on any earlier posts so here's a "Welcome to the fforum" for you from me...
