The Dodo Roadsign

Just to let you know - my roadsign appeared yesterday, and is now proudly displayed in my home.

Jasper signed the back and everything - it's really rather nice!

Mildred is a little distressed at seeing such a large picture of 'herself'. Poor thing. You'd have thought she'd have looked in the mirror before now, but then she is a little short. All the mirrors in our house are head height at least... (that's people heads, not dodo heads)

Congrats!

BTW, if Mildred wants to "meet" my dodo (which I made as part of a Thurdsay Next costume for Halloween), it's the last link on Jaspers "Reader Contributions" page (or was the last time I looked).

Well done Sarah (*jealous fumes*)!

I hope Magda's dodo actually thinks it's a dodo, unlike all the other deluded critters round here ....

I believe she's aware that she's a dodo. She's just not sure why she doesn't have any wings, despite the fact that they were included in the pattern.

I'd be jealous too, except that wouldn't really be fair, seeing as I didn't get around to writing anything myself.

Aw heck, I'll be jealous anyway.

oh whoa!!!!

I hope you get lots of converts to the cause by using the sign, lol, every person who walks in your flat and asks what's that, you give them the lecture :D

This fforum demands a photo of the gifted blurb writer (lucky winner inplies a lack of skill undeserving of such artistry...)

Anyone to propose the motion?

Lol. One of my friends insisted that I put it on the end of the road to see how many people turned and looked for the low-flying dodos...

Magda, your dodo is lovely! Mildred agrees with me, and wants to know if she has a name.

And Jon, Mildred is perfectly well aware that she is a dodo. Just that she doesn't spell well.

Ben, check my profile...

Being not terribly original, I've been referring to her as Pickwick, particularly since that's what I called her while dressed as Thursday for Halloween.

If Mildred wants to see me holding her (for scale) you can look toward the bottom of this page:

So when do we get to see a pic. of Mildred?

Forgot to mention, those pics are from a party with a Jane Austen theme. Since the hostess had read TEA and LIAGB, I decided Thursday counted.

Given that I happened to have long dark hair, and to be Thursday's age, how could I resist, once the idea had ocurred to me? Especially since it saved me the trouble of making a dress. (Of course, I did end up making a dodo, an ID badge and an entroposcope).

Granted, only three other people at the party had a clue who I was or why I was carrying a dodo, but a number of other folks found the entroposcope amusing.

BTW, the man in the jeans and T-shirt with his back to me in two of the pics in the kitchen is the same bloke that loaned me his copy of TEA to read (and later borrowed my copy of LIAGB). He told me at the party that if he'd known I was coming as Thursday he'd have cobbled together a Acheron Hades costume. (What would that look like?)

Oh sure, sneak in and respond while I'm trying to edit the post above you before anyone sees it.....

(Okay, so I really just wanted to add something more and thought I'd look silly if I had three posts in a row).

Looking silly never stopped me! Although if there's no-one there I'll edit instead, although my number of posts is still somewhat obscene...

Re Sarah's pic;

as PSD said, it's just an x, but if you follow the url it leads to a pic of Sam Carter .... although if by any chance you are a dead ringer for Amanda Tapping I'm free on Wednesdays.

Unfortuneately for me, I'm not Amanda Tapping's body double.

Is it still showing an X/Sam Carter? I've tried to change it...

Glad you like the 'slinky' effect. Kept me amused for ages...

Acshually, I think the prob is that the image is too large. Squeeze it down to about a third of that and see if that works.

Hmm, only guessing but I figure that'd be a piccy of Kenny... Despite all my technical wizardry this version of Exploder won't let me hunt after it.

It's not a pic of Kenny, no, you'd be wrong to guess that...

Though you are kinda close...
