Okay, so when Landen asks Aornis who she is, and her name turns out to be a pun of some sort relating to Thursday's extinction . . . I don't get it . . .

Violet De'ath = violent death, which is what Aornis has in mind for Thursday.

I imagine that having a car dropped upon one by an airship would qualify.
