Incident with Spike, Frampton, and Thursday

Does anyone have a guess as to what the "very recognizable and unspeakably unpleasant specimen" was that was in the glass jar in the lab when Frampton tried to eat Thursday?

No! Not (da da DAAA!) - the England Rugby Union second row?

Oh, no, I haven't missed a 'Frampton comes alive' gag there, have I? Say it ain't so.

I'm now Googling like mad, and came across the worrying quote that 'You haven't lived until you've been to a PG Bee Gee orgy'

There is a reason, it's relevant and it's actually cleaner than that snippet sounds. See the result I got off Google here:

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. By judicious use of Google it would appear there are loads of potential references, none of which leap out at me...

---------------------------------------------

"1974's 'Young Dracula', a bizarro musical starring Pixar's favorite musical artist Harry Nilsson as the singing - get ready for the pun - 'Count Downe', the son of Dracula. He wants to give up bloodsucking and become a rock-and-roll star.

Ahh, the rebellion of youth.

Billed as 'The world's first Rock -N- Roll Dracula movie, the cast included Ringo Starr as Merlin the Magician, with rockers Peter Frampton, John Bonham and Keith Moon and Peter Voorman along for the ride. It's a gruesome curiosity, as if someone tossed a motion picture camera and recreational drugs to some rock stars, and said - "Hey - let's put on a show!"

Added to the 'Comes Alive' possibility this seems pretty good for a multi-level gag...

Interestingly the credits for 'The House That Dripped Blood' also feature one Peter Frampton - repeat offender?

---------------------------------------------

David Frampton apparently did illustrations for 'Good Omens' by Pratchett and Gaiman, although this has bugger all to do with the living dead... I'm just showing off...
---------------------------------------------------

"In 1845 there was published at the Columbian Press Weston-super-mare, a little book entitled The Last of the Vampires, by Smyth Upton. The chief, some critics might say the only, merit of this tale is its excessive rarity. The narrative is somewhat curiously divided into Epochs, the first of which takes place in 1769, the second in 1777, the third and last in 1780. Chapter I opens in an English village named Frampton,"

Even Mr Ff isn't this obscure, surely?

Why not?

I had wondered whether there was a connection between the Vampire Frampton and Peter of that ilk, but didn't have any ideas about following up on it...

I'd been assuming that the lab specimen was a human foetus...

Well, given the dates at least we can be sure Jasper didn't work on either of those films (and if he had, would he admit it?) but be it noted he is a major Bee Gee fan. Although there isn't actually any undead activity in the Sgt Pepper farrago. So I dunno.
