Always meant to watch Muriel one day, I saw about five minutes of it when I was little. I don't think I was allowed to watch movies of that sort back then.

Myself and the good Mrs CannibalRabbit went to see the Priscilla stage show. Surprisingly good - amazing how they got the bus on stage.

They had a bus on stage? I have to say, Hugo Weaving isn't the prettiest of guys when dressed in drag. I know this as have seen the advertisements...

He might not be, but who cares when Guy Pearce is running around without a shirt on?

Yes, not exactly the same size as the original pricilla but it was definitely a bud.

Speaking of drag: John Travolta in Hairspray!! I had to sit through it twice this year (once just hours ago). He makes one unattractive woman, that is all I can say..

I'll have to make a resolution to view Priscilla sometime soon. Oh and Wall-E, I keep being thwarted every time I intend to go and see that Pixar film.

Dustin Hoffman was a better woman in Tootsie.

Was JT's appearance better or worse than in Battlefield Earth, do you think?

Depends, which character had more 'leverage'?

<leaves suitable length of time for taste to restore itself>

So, how about them Yankees?

Anyone have any comments on them recasting Kirk, Spock et al for the new movie?

Should bread be allowed to have currants and fruit in it?

Unless you want Zimmer frames, coffins and urns in space, there was no real choice other than re-casting for Original series crew, was there?

Whether we need another Kirk/Spock story when there is a perfectly serviceable crew onboard the Firefly is another issue entirely

Well, I was referring more to the unoriginality of going back to - and potentially ruining - the original characters. Replacing them with far too young-looking pretty people is not a great idea to my mind.

It's all so academic.

I think that I would rather see a movie version of chickenman. At least we get another outing for Simon Pegg, so it can't be all bad, can it?

Marvin the Martian the Movie has a nice ring to it, but we would need a kaboom.

I wouldn't be averse to a Duckman movie...

Ah, Duck Dodgers! I'd even prefer a new 'Flash Gordon' movie. Imagine what they could do with that story with contemporary production values.
