*waves from Hong Kong*

Recently I've done two pieces of TN fanart based on "The Eyre Affair", and want to share them with you all :)

- The Eyre Affair - with my favourite characters:
[lurazeda.deviantart.com]

- An Illustration from the chapter "Airship to Swindon" ,here I tried to include some of the interesting settings of this book (e.g. Will-speak machine/airship etc.) in one picture:

The Chinese version of "Lost in a good book" was finally published three months ago, I'm so going to draw a picture of Miss Havisham and Thursday! :D

<Waves from the United Kingdom!>

Welcome, Karla. If you haven't already found it, Skidz left some Battenberg next to the pies. You've managed to shift our geographical average even closer to Australia! Well done!

Egon.

Hi there Karla - what a great first contribution! Those are some great pictures - I especially love the colouring of the Speedster. I presume they're hand drawn...what technique did you use for the colours?

Unfortunately my artistic design is somewhat limited. However, I'm waiting for the game Little Big Planet to come out, then considering making characters (and maybe even levels) based on the Nextian universe...

And it's best to just ignore the others, who haven't a clue how to actually respond to a post at anything less than 45 degrees (as far away as you can get from both actually staying on track and being normal...)

Oh huff. I liked the pictures, Karla. Well done! I especially thought that the background on the second piece was well conceived and colourful to just the right degree.

Hi Karla, Nice artwork. Don't believe Leonard - he is just huffy because he doesn't have any cardboard left to make a scale model of Swindon.

We are a friendly bunch, just easily distracted.

Skids - I think Swindon Borough Council have the same problem.

But Leonard: A tangent is at 90 degrees....

Look! Shiny!

(Oh, and hiya!)

A tangent isn't at ninety degrees. It continues on in the same direction as the curve it touched. A perpendicular is at ninety degrees.

Don't touch the shiny! You don't know where it has been!

a tangent travels in the same direction as the curve but only at the point where it touches otherwise it would be the curve rather than a tangent.

This would be fine if the tangent was a different colout than the curve but pointless if not.

Can I order a tangent in purple please?

Huffy, SkidMarks? Me? HUFFY? You should be glad I don't have any cardboard left, 'cos if I did, I'd make a model of your house, and then BLOW IT DOWN!

...

Sorry, dunno what came over me there. Still, Now that the NCD have left, I can finish my post.

Yeah, my point about 45 degrees was that going at a tangent meant travelling in the same direction as the original thing, at least for a small amount of distance - while threads here don't seem to manage even that! But the perpendicular direction is also called the normal, which I don't think anyone would claim things here are...

Define 'normal'.

If you are in Swindon, cardboard is normal.

Ah, so profound. If you are in (Old) South Wales then rain is normal.
