'Stones' now make a Ginger Beer (about 4.75 alc. vol) that is so excellent that I'm considering starting a petition which forgives them for the calamity which their green ginger wine inflicted on Australia a few decades ago.

Actually Stone's Green Ginger wine has a use.

In a drink created about 1977 by Mike Lovett and David Fairburn of London Scottish Rugby Union Club called a 'Toolkit' you start with a half pint glass:add a vodka and orange, a dark rum, a Stone's Green Ginger, a Jamieson's whisky, and a brandy.

The colour is a 'dusky orange', it tastes good, and after three or so of them you are feeling decidely merry.

The good thing about them is that you don't end up with a hangover the next morning although some people have reported symptoms of unicornitis as if there was a spike growing out through the top of their head.

I think that in this time of economic woes most people could not afford to drink three of these.

I just LOVE the green ginger wine, if I'm feeling poor and desperate for a drink.

Yup, gingerwine and ferrero rocher. :)

Resurrected for the Toblerone mention and topicality of threads abandoned before they've even begun,

Strawberries, Wimbledon. Chattenooga. Nicholas Parsons. A dirigible. Twinkies.

Nice try ES - but since you refer to mysterious corrections on page 5, I'm not sure it counts.

Nice try Geg, but a connection is nothing like a correction. Don't give up the day job.

What is the mysterious connection between a mysterious connection and a mysterious correction?

What day job?

I have no idea. Would you like one? I have a mysterious connection with a very intriguing offer in Deepest Neepnot...

Good God no, I don't have time for a job, I'd only just worked my way through the readable content of the average library and bookshop when they invented the internet and the home computer.

I suggest you avoid Deepest Neepnot, its where they make all conspiracy theorists go* and given your current frame of mind I'm not sure that would be at all wise.

*Apologies, in advance, to all our readers from Deepest Neepnot.

Conspiracy theorists? I don't like them. They all have it in for me.

I think you'll find that that's a cupboard.

Any body seen the latest copy of the Deepest Neepnot Times? Makes for very informed reading.

It certainly watches your money, I'll give it that.

What? Send carrot waves out and measure their return times?

:P

{BEEP}

Don't blame me for carats, it's an addiction okay - I can't help myself.
