I haven't had that one, but I regularly get 'you are a prize winner in ..... draw' please contact XXXXX and claim your prize. these have included some claiming to be a 'Hotmail sweep', some bank in the UK, National Lottery in UK, and others claiming to be of benefit to me.

I established an account to respond and deal with some of these to see what happens and got no response.

So now the 'delete' button comes into play automatically

Here is a suggestion, if you never want to receive another spam email, go gmail!

Never need to delete, lose or have junk ever again! Best choice I made.

Hehe

Oh, but I like scam e-mails! Plus, it went to my university account and I can't help that. It's mandatory.

Oh, well, please disregard my previous post. I did receive some for a while on my first Uni account, I don't recall getting any at my second uni email account.

I did once get an email that had nothing in it whatsoever, or was from anyone and was dated 1971 or something. I was a bit bemused by that one, couldn't work out what happened there.

The 'improvements' that mean I can't send e-mails from my Firefox-equipped Linux office computer anymore? THOSE improvements?

I like gmail. I think it is wonderful that Google takes the time to hold all my personal information - whether I want them to or not.

Defend gmail? Is that even possible? Does homemade armour work in this instance?

Too many questions!

Egon.

Well, I thought perhaps I'd wrap my computer in the armour, so that I could sleep at night knowing that gmail is safe....

My latest is to get a post telling me I've got work writing reviews - high earnings to be made!!! I click on the link and straight away find I've mysteriously become a 'friend' of a Ciao member - pay is 0.0000005p per 120 words. If you're lucky.

Got another one today. this time from British National Lotteries.

Hit delete sign in mailbox. Wonder. have marked this a 'Junk" at least once before, so how come it gets past the filter. Could it be that NotMacros*ft is getting a cut? If not directly but by connivance with perpetrators of this scam?

As is almost penniless doesn't worry about legal action. Can claim insanity on ground of being ex public servant and being married for 25plus years.
