Thought I'd say hello, and this seemed the place to do it.

I'm planning on coming to the Ffiesta (not that I've got my ticket yet - I really ought to) and so thought it might be good to see if there were any friendly faces on here who are going too.

Hello Allegro, I'll definately be going, just as well, I'm doing the admin.

We've got lots of interesting and quirky events lined up. I know for a fact that everyone who is coming is really getting into the spirit of it - planning their costumes, practicing soliquys, writing poetry and much more.

People will be put into colour groups for different games so they mix and anyone one their own will feel included. If you want any more information about it don't hesitate in contacting me. My email address is gill_neal(at)yahoo.co.uk

Hi Allegro,

unfortunately it looks as if mrs. SkidMarks & I won't be able to go this time, but I can tell youthat we went to the last one and had no trouble making friends with lots of people. Just throw yourself into everything.

Where are my manners!??? I forgot to say that everyone who comes is so friendly and welcoming and take everyone who looks lost under their wings.

Mr and Mrs Skids will be sorely missed for this reason alone

Thanks both. I will be on my own, which is why I was a bit hesitant to go, but also why I wanted to say hello here before hand. So thanks for the friendly welcome.

From what's been posted, it does sound like a lot of fun. And as I'm only just down the road from Swindon, I don't really have any excuse not to go now!

Is there a count yet of how many have bought their tickets? I'm waiting for airfares to come down before I book my flight, but I'm ready to pounce as soon as something reasonable comes up (talk about online searches that email me daily with their "deals!).

Allegro, I'll be on my own, too, but that's most of the fun of it--we can just be our Ffordian selves without being known in any other way. I think that in itself will be a delightful vacation.

Cheers,

gailfus

Gaifus, I can't tell you how many have been sold but there are some left. I'll definately let you know if we sell out before you buy you ticket

I was thinking I might toddle along this year. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and I've heard some great things about the Fforganisers :)

Actually, Lycanthra, I am the proud owner of ticket #35 and assigned to Green for the Ffiesta. I just asked about tickets because I wondered how many people will be in attendance in May.

I finally bought my plane ticket today--shocked at how much it cost but relieved to be locked into going at last. I've even planned my "before" and "after" days (literary festival at Hay-on-Wye and Stonehenge being the high points).

I truly can't wait to meet everyone and see a bit of England at last!!

Cheers,

gailfus

I have ticket number 41, which is one higher than the ticket for the last Ffiesta, 42. I'm going up in the world.

See you there.

Go see Avebury! I loved the place when I was there for the day and West Kennett Long Barrow is fasinating and can be walked into. 5600 years of history.

Avebury has more atmosphere than Stonehenge - I remember the days you could touch the stones

Don't forget Bath

Gill, are you suggesting that Steeljam's personal hygiene leaves something to be desired?

Takes out Monitor's note book and writes "Skidmarks: 20 demerits" and hands over a "Needs Humility" badge.

I will accept the badge and wear it with pride, even though I know that I already have more humility than anyone else.
