In 1985 I was going through my second childhood for the second time. Was made redundant for the first time.

The first British mobile phone call is made by Ernie Wise to Vodafone and EastEnders first airs on television. What a wonderful era.

EastEnders with Dirty Den, Lofty, Ange, ah those were the days.

Bucks Fizz were still limping along, and "Merry Christmas Everybody" was Shakin Stevens smash hit for Xmas 1985.

I'm sad I will miss the next Fforde Ffiesta in 2009, but it is still very fun to explore in Winter! I got to see the low bridge today and Lola Vavoom the statue! The epitome of coolness....

Euch! Ja I did take pictures! I a taking my crochet dodo around too, so it has been to Swindon.

I have seen about thirty artists I have studied so far! Ecstasy of an artistic kind.

Hi amandam_xym. Help yourself to pie.

Just to let you know, due to the publication of "Shades of Grey" (or to give it its presumed US title, 'Shades of Gray') being postponed, we have taken the decision to postpone the 1985 Fforde Ffiesta as well.

This is to enable us to continue to weave elements of the new story into the event itself, and of course work together with both Jasper and Hodders to gain maximum publicity for the Ffiesta throughout the promotional campaign for the new book.

The new dates are Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th May 2010.

(although, please keep an eye on both Jasper's and the Ffiesta website for final confirmation of that in the coming weeks, as there are still a few contractual elements with the De Vere Hotel to iron out yet...)
