In honour of tomorrow being Abe Lincoln's 200th birthday I suggest that the opening shot is in a theatre.
Not only am I Spartacus, but I am also not Australian and would like to point out that it's crucifixion for me and the other Spartacuses (Spartacii?) You have to be a poetry-reading Ozzie gladiator to get the big cat treatment.

For those of you who still insist of being Spartacus you should know that we have had 2,000 years to revise our policies and now anybody insisting they are Spartacus is feed to the lions. Sadly the lions are refusing to eat anything not cooked by Heston Blumenthal so we will be replacing them with Moorhens in the very near future.
