First Among Rip-offs (the Grand Plagiaropolous)

I was in the kitchen listening to Radio 4's Front Row, when I first heard about the ITV drama Lost in Austin - a title which itself clearly references the Thursday Next series. The pompous ill informed cultural commentators spent some time discussing what an original concept it was, as I fumed in to my marigolds.

However, not being one to participate in audience outrage I restrained myself – I now learn that the concept has been picked up by Columbia pictures for a film adaptation:

I sincerely hope Jasper has his lawyers sharpened.

Welcome Canofsky, but calm down! You will do yourself an injury.

Have a piece of pie, or if you prefer take an individual whole pie, but be aware that not all flavours come in both varieties. I think the drinks trolley is by the treehouse.

Although I did not see all of "Lost in Austin", that part that I did see didn't seem to be very close to the TN series, although I would have liked to hear Mr. Fforde's reaction when he first heard that it was being made...............

You are of course right: a drink and some pie would help considerably.

A case for Jurisfiction if ever there was one. Coincidence? I think not.

It's Lost in AUSTEN. They're not in the capital of Texas.

Second, that's nothing.

Now THAT'S a Thursday Next rip-off!

Just to stir the pot a little (where are all the other threads about lost in austen?) a friend of mine who also likes TN said that it's really rather good!
