Thanks, Jasper!

I'll have to check my schedule, talk to Ffordian friends and see if I can organize a trip to either Chicago or Dayton (I'm in Michigan). If I can make it, I might even bring along my soft Pickwick and try to talk you into signing her foot.

I imagine the stop in D.C. will make Twila a happy camper.

That even strikes me as verging on the obsessive...

Possibly the entertainment opportunities in DC are limited.

'You wanna go see Senators telling lies today, Bud?'
'Nah. Let's go burgle the Watergate'.

DC - so good they named a type of electric current after it. This should not be confused with an electric currant, which is probably related to electric gherkins...

Jasper,

Any chance you will be making any more stops in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area? I have a brother-in-law whose a manager at a Barnes & Noble in the area (Woodbury, Minnesota to be exact).

lefseboy (who might be taking a 3 hour drive down to NYC, otherwise)

The signings are only scheduled for an hour each...and one of them will have a reading, so if his schedule is tight, I might not actually get to "meet" him. I'd actually like to say hi, ya know, not just be rushed through the signing line.

And if he's doing one at the Library of Congress (don't know if you actually know what that is...it's where the US stores copies of nearly every book published in the US along with lots of important documents, etc.) it's gonna be busy. Just tourist interest alone will probably keep him very busy and somewhat unreachable.

But....I'd still like to go even if I hate crowds! At least I don't have to drive to Philadelphia now!

Hey! We are one of the stops for Jasper Fforde's tour, so we invite everyone in the New Orleans, LA area (including all of Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas. Seriously.) to come meet such an incredible author: April 23rd, 6:30 PM. The more the merrier! Or if you can't make it, email us or call us (504) 895-2663 and we'll reserve a copy of either of his books and mail it to you.

In another bit of fun, to celebrate this glorious event, we are having a COSTUME CONTEST!!! That's right, in New Orleans we are all about dressing up and having fun, so come dressed as your favorite literary character. (I'm trying to get one of my co-workers to come as Hester Prynne, complete with a Scarlet "A". I personally would like to come as Raskolnikov, but I'm afraid the axe may scare some people off.) Points are given for originality and creativity; props, wigs, etc are encouraged. I'm not quite sure what the prize will be yet, but I promise it will be something fantastic of great monetary value. Or perhaps of little monetary value. But fantastic nonetheless.

See you then! ~Jeff, a Beaucoup Bookseller.

P.S.: Courtney just said instead of Hester Prynne, she wants to come as Eloise, complete with pug, turtle, and frilly panties. Who knows what madness will ensue?

Literaray cosplay, whatever next? Although I can't quite see this going down quite so well in a small Waterstones in a little country town over here...

I don't know... Maybe there's a market for that kind of thing...

Are the tours ticketed events?
