[mywebpages.comcast.net]

[mywebpages.comcast.net] (no, NOT Jon Brierley, Jon my husband! LOL)

Just to let you know, the lighting in there was AWFUL and I'm sure Jasper was a bit on the tired side after a very long day (and week) of book signings! He's really quite dashing (and even a bit sexy!) in person! (Just don't tell the hubby I said that! LOL)

Oh and by the way, Jasper's g/f, Mari took the pics. (she wanted to play with my camera LOL- she said she'd been drooling over it all night cuz she likes Nikons and she hadn't played with the digital SLRs) She's very sweet! And she looks just like SOMEONE we all love....HMMMMMMM

You know, I thought she might... :-D

Those pictures are a lot better than you led us to expect! They took ages to download, but were definitely worth the wait.

Yeah, they are huge, but they are great.

I don't think we will be pitching for any signings with him :-(
but i hope there is a launch party and Raj will send me an invitation!

Sorry they're so large. I forget not everyone has a broadband connection. Perhaps I'll try to scale them down a tad! But have to wait until after the weekend.

By the way, I only got a few shots as the lighting was so poor and I was too far away most of the time for my flash to reach. And the one I did try to get when I was close up, he decided to scratch his nose so I got his hand in front of his face! LOL OH WELL!

Awww; Jasper's rather sweet really. The way his ears stick out slightly and the sort of tufty effect of the hair on top of his head. He looks much nicer than in the photo in the books.
Can't say I'm sure about Jon's moustache, but then I'm not the one kissing it, so my opinion doesn't matter

Indeed not ..... TBH I'm not sure about my beard, but then I'm not the one kissing it, so my opinion *definitely* doesn't matter ....

(um, my beard and Jon's moustache are not the same thing, in case anybody was confused here).

We're always confused here. That's why it feels like home...

I'll bring my new digital camera (not nearly as spiffy as Twilas, but a nice little pocket sized Toshiba 4 megapixel) on Monday and get some pics too. Not sure how quickly I'll get them posted, since I'll be getting home some time around midnight, and then getting up early to pick my mother up at the collission repair shop at 7:30 and drive her to work, since a deer ran into her car on Friday. And I'll be working late to make up for leaving early the day before to drive down to Dayton.

re: Jon's moustache was left long and bushy on purpose for the costume party we went to this weekend. I trimmed it for him so that it would look like a faux-handlebar moustache. Worked pretty well. And even when it is bushy, kissing him is just fine because it's very soft.

re: Jasper's hair, he didn't really look as dishevelled in person as he did in the pictures. The lighting really was attrociously bad in there. And as far as the sticky-out ears, ya, they're cute. Maybe he's self concious of them a little, because Mari always takes his jacket photos from a high angle or with his chin tipped down, which will lessen the "monkey ears" as we call them in the photog realm. (his aren't bad at all though, just cuz he has short hair!!)

Did you know that the sign-language for 'monkey' is the same as 'Hartlepool'?

(Sorry - I'm on a Northern thing again: Jon - I've finally got round to engineering again...)

Humph. I can think of things that need doing more urgently than anything in the engineering line ....*taps foot impatiently*

Shan't get much work done today as it is holiday and Revolting Nephew is here and watching telly in same room.
Just been bombarbed by trailer for cute movie featuring those 'unlikely friends' that crop up so often in kids' movies. These 'unlikely friends' usually have a lot in common, except for species (human/animal/alien). Does this reflect something in the American subconcious about race ie: it is unusual to be friends with someone who doesn't look like you ?
Just a thought.

I also get *really* annoyed by any trailers telling me that a movie is 'beyond my imagination'.
Not only is this damn insulting to my imagination (movies which use this tag always seem to be the second-rate ones), if something literally is 'beyond my imagination', then I won't be able to grasp it so what's the point in watching it ?

Well, presumably the movie will help your imagination along.

Yeah right... The only movies that do that are the ones that don't get expensive Hollywood trailers, but that get sold on word of mouth and *really* muck your head up.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon influenced my day-dreams for weeks...

I'm working on lots of things. Excuses, mostly...
