Exploring Jasper's website

Random quesitons.

How many folks here have clicked the "Click here if boss is coming" link at Pickwick's Cavalcade of Fun?

How many folks in the Fforum have the difficulty mentioned on the second page of the Brower problems section?

(BTW Jasper, if you're reading this, the link on the contents page goes straight to page 2. Actually, it does that whether you're reading this or not.)

And have I mentioned that Jasper's site is the only one I've found where I actually like the pop-up ads?

I've clicked 'the boss is coming' but only out of curiousity. And I love the pop-up ads as well!

The only problem I've had is that the updates I've signed up for don't come through - but as I visit regularly (perhaps too regularly!) , that's not a real problem.

I think the site is amazing - I'm still finding bits and pieces I've not visited before! So much work and effort has gone into this - Jasper really loves us!

And we sure love him!!

Pickwick's Cavalcade of fun is the only 'games' site that our work server doesn't block... I therefore work in an office full of budding SpecOps Agents!!!

Well yes, I don't know that the boss would actually find it particularly credible, but 's it's still amusing.

I have seen websites (such as www.ishouldbeworking.com) that have boss panic buttons which throw up a screen that looks like it could be work related (spreadsheet, business related search pages and so on).

Of course, I only know about these sites because I did a research project and presentation for a class on computers in business on the productivity lost because of workers websurfing during work hours. Really. I would never surf during work hours. (Oops, it's work hours now, isn't it? Damn, caught out again).

In related research, did you know that the more money someone makes, the more time they are likely to spend surfing pornographic websites from work? Mind you, I suspect this is related to the fact that they are also more likely to be male (statistically) and to have private offices...

So that must mean that Bill Gates is a very very naughty boy.

But we knew that anyway.

I must admit that I laughed aloud after clicking the "Click here if boss is coming" link -- but then I don't get out much. And no the boss wasn't coming -- as I'm self-employed I don't have one. Or if I do then it's me. So I guess I should have that link permanently clicked. Or something.

I agree with Auntysassy about what a rich site it is -- I keep finding new bits. I just found the annotated version of TEA (someone mentioned it in another thread) -- really amusing and enlightening. A shame Mr Ff doesn't have time to do more of it . . . (But if he did then he might not have time to write any more novels, which would be worse.)

I'm always finding something new on this site. In fact, by the time I think I've seen it all, I go back and find I've forgotten what was there originally! (not that that made any sense to anyone...unless they also suffer from CRS - Can't Remember Shhhhhtuff)

I've tried the anti-Boss screen, although just out of curiosity, too. Don't think that it would work with my boss, alas, he'd probably insist on seeing just what the file "that could save the company"was...

With respect to Bill Gates, surely we all know he's a w****r?

Wow... if that's respect, I don't think I'd want to be around when you were expressing contempt! ;-)

I've clicked the "boss" link too, just to see, but I work flexible hours so I will take a break when I really need one, and occasionally I'll use it to check e-mails and do other online things. However, most days I will go online before I start work and then again in the evening. I get a _lot_ of e-mails, so I have to do it that way just to keep up.
