Is it me ?

Just read on the BBC website how using the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system has allowed police forces to up their arrest rate tenfold. Basically, they can spot suspected criminal's cars and stolen cars and track them with existing roadside cameras.

[news.bbc.co.uk]

Sounds good to me. However, my question is:

Wouldn't it be a good idea just to carry on catching criminals this way rather than publicising it so they know to use all the backroads ?

Is it me ??

Well, they do say the law is an ass, even if this wasn't originally the way it was meant!

Is the law the ass or is it the press? In movies its always cops that are trying to keep the case all secret and then some reporter trying to get a byline spoils it all.

Strange law time: In Ohio (IIRC) it's illegal to make a fish drunk.

But of course.

Wilfred thinks getting a fish drunk is a great idea. He reckons it would save him valuable drinking time when he ate it...

How do you get a fish drunk? It would have to be very small, or people would choke if they weren't allowed to chew it.....

Hang on, didn't I say that in another thread? And didn't PSD then make a remark which I didn't understand but which turned out to be rather filthy?

Don't encourage him! :-S

Not the old 'Love, true love and showing off' gambit again, surely?

Apparently Errol Flynn was banned from drinking on set by a director. It was two weeks before they twigged he was injecting vodka into his oranges...
