which is never going be in WN (for reasons that will become obvious - no, it's not rude), and is a bit long for here, so if you want to read it,

is the place to be; it's called 'Contracted Out'.

thangyouverymuch.

(PS - it's Adam's wedding tomorrow, so I shan't be around. My trousers dont fit. Eeeep).

Very, very good :) I always wondered where she got the name Draco from...

A story? I writted an entire book! Well, I have all the page numbers written anyway.

It's a start.

Very good, Jon, by the way (credit where it's due - and that had me laughing all the way to the bank!)

Dave Rainbow (who has not gone on holiday after all) printed it out. It's hilarious!

Apparently my movements are of interest? I am plotting to lay up in Harrogate whilst choosing which northern delights to sample depending on the weather.

I like the lakes, but whenever I go they seem to be in 'filling' mode. There is even a danger I'll go on the 'Dave Rubach' tour of the east coast, looking for the 'real' site of Doriath. Then again there are a lot of other things for fogeys in the area. I like the sound of the sea but am afraid I may go 'Earendil' over it.

I have now bought a loud shirt and raised Sarah's eyebrows beyond the hairline, so I may have convinced her I am going to Hawaii after all. It is so long since my committments allowed me a holiday that I may take some proferred advice, and keep on doing so until I get the hang of it.

thought it was a bit touch and go for the goat there (hmmm <thinks> is there a seedy joke in there somewhere.) Are you sure its an entirely fictional account? had a chuckle, then another one and before I knew it I'd finished the whole bag.

I finally read it. Nicely done. Still haven't read any HP as I may be in agreement with Jon about it. (Plots to outdo perpetrator).

Heheheh... I suspected as much! You do realise there are people, strange people, in certain parts of the southerly United States who might take that as a factual document?

On an unrelated note, any movement with Rupert the Cultist?

Fantastic. Spend your time on more of those, rather than fish puns. Gah.

As mentioned further up the thread, I sent the link to this story to a few friends, with the title "sound plausible?", and posted it on another small message board where I thought folks would be amused. Two folks there didn't get it at all. Neither of them twigged as to who the woman was supposed to be, and they thought I wanted a critique of the writing style (which they thought was good, BTW). Worse yet, one of them is wiccan and thought I wanted her opinion on the sacrifice, so she pointed out that she doesn't do that sort of thing. Sigh. I've just sent them an explaination.

Mind you, the people I sent it to specifically (including my best friend) knew exactly who it was about, and found it very funny.
