I have in my hand a Precopy of Shades of Grey I have got into the first three chapters and It should appeal to all FFans. I am not sure when ts officaly out but I couldn't wait for it to come out I will not give away anything away. But its going to be a colourful adventure

Well done mr puniverse. Unfortunately someone else beat mrs. SkidMarks to their proof copy so we will have to wait. She did win in the scrum for "Retromancer", though.

It's a great book, you'll all enjoy it I won't spoil the ending but........

I do hope it isn't a sad ending. I snuffled a bit over Jasper's ending of Granny Next.

I find it intensely embarrassing to be teary from a sad and fictional event and then to have someone walk in. I never used to, so I'm a bit mystified as to why I do this now.

if its like his other first books in a series it wont have an end but a continuation to the next one

Shades of Grey is on sale in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The same may be trus for other bookshops on the continent.
I bought it yesterday but didn't start reading yet.

I have just finished my copy and can only reiterate what the other forumites have said. It is a truly tremendous romp.

Hi Ghurab, help yourself to pie. Unfortunately the book is embargoed for sale in the U.K. and I missed out on a proof copy, so I will have to wait another couple of days!

Just checked Waterstones and they have both hardback and paperback copies for sale.
The hardback has a release date of 14th Jan but the paperback has a release date of 29th December.
I'm going to phone my local shop tomorrow and check if it is they have copies.

Yep. SoG is available at Waterstones.
Popped in and got a hardback copy of the book with £3 off.
I like the opening line.
It is reminiscent of the opening line from The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin by David Nobbs. Based on that line my wife bought the book.
Now to read the book.
