As far as I know, he has always used his real name. No quotes anywhere.

I think it needs 2 readings. I loved the every railway cliche imaginable sections and the progress of the goblins, but the grags seemed a little obvious.
Pterry's books are much darker and political these days.

"Raising Steam" I think PTerry has slightly changed the nature/character of the Patrician, and I feel a little less respect for him. (Havelock Vetinari, that is, notPTerry.)
