Shades of Grey not available to european Kindle users

Hi,
I just found out that there is a new Jasper Fforde book out and immediately went online with my Kindle to buy it. Sadly, it appears to be for US customers only. This is very sad, especially coming from a UK author. I hope this can be fixed soon so that I can enjoy my legal copy of the book.

Does the kindle support books in ePub format? If so, you can get SoG from Waterstones online.

sadly, the Kindle is locked to proprietary format azw that can only be purchased at amazon.com so that option does not work. I could of course get the epub and then rip it and convert ist...but I'm looking for a easy and legal route. Just nipping it off the darknet is @#$%& and easy, but I like Jasper Fford's books and would like to pay him for his work...
