Interesting quote in there: “Well, artists and actors are oranges. They’re out on the periphery, and you really wouldn’t want them to be in control.”

It made me think of the scene when Eddie and his father are travelling to East Carmine. They are passing a town called Persimmon-on-River "where the Oranges alighted". If you have followed the Sleuthing competition, it is relatively clear that Persimmon-on-River is meant to be Hay-on-Wye, Jasper's home town.

Who were the Oranges on the train? Were they on their way to the Hay Festival? Will they make an appearance in a future book?

It's kind of eerie though that in a nearby country Oranges are in control. That is, it has an Orange for queen.
