For you UK Fforumites...

What did you think of 'Sherlock'?

Which one?

Loved them! I thought that the third was the weakest, which surprised me. As someone who is not a fan of Martin Freeman, I thought he was very, very good as Watson.

I liked the modern setting.

Interesting, I thought the middle one was by far the weakest. Different people, different tastes!

Is it about this?

Yep.

Only 3 episodes, but I expect more in the near future

I thought they pulled it off admirably. I was jolly sceptical, but sat down to watch the first with Weevil Jnr and was very impressed.

I'm in the middle one = weakest camp too.

I liked the Suzhou numerals in Ep 2, and wasn't keen on the ending of 3, although that might be just a device to force a full series.

Yes, the ending to 3 was a little weak. I'm in the 'Rubbish casting for Moriarty' camp myself, assuming that really was Moriarty.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it. It feels like the best bits are the ones most closely linked to the source material.

I don't know about in the show, but in the books, I always though watson was a little bit... You know... *special*.

He's not special, he's just written that way.

Niiiiiice!

I noticed that 9 have started screening promos for it. Nothing as handy as a start date, alas.

I just saw 'The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes'. That was actually a good movie. Watson wasn't even 'special'. At least not that much.

The 1970 Billy Wilder film, or is there a newer version?

The 1970 Wilder film. Originally it was supposed to be three hours long with two additional cases!

I just saw the last Mitchell and Webb sketch for series 4 (Elderly Sherlock Holmes). It made me sad. :(
