You are a mythical creature after my own heart Bunyip.

Unlikely to happen though unless we have a philanthropic publisher amongst us

We've certainly got aspiring editors in our midst. I do wonder what the ethics of publishing a website's dribblings are: as smart and funny as they may be.

there is a precedent:

Look at any country's constitution.*

If these are not put together by the collection of random thoughts I'll eat my Stainless Steel Rat books.

* the UK which does not have a constitution has instead a collection of ad hoc and contradictory legislation which achieves the end of meaning that everythings is illegal, and will be taxed and the money spent on such things as genome sequencing the Jabberwok.

(Attempt at thread resurrection).

Does god (the christian one) have a belly button?

It's a bit like asking if time and space have belly buttons. God invented belly buttons; he/she/it might be covered in belly buttons for all we know or understand.

Another great unanswered question... why do we keep asking questions to which we will never know the answers?

There's only one answer to that!!

The answer lies in the soil.

Arthur Fallowfield has provided an answer, so that implicit question has now been answered. As the man who put the sex in Sussex, Arthur Fallowfield may not be a reliable source, though.

Who would have thought it?

Radio4 Extra are currentlybroadcasting a lot of old comedy like the Goon Show, and The Navy Lark.

I've been amazed at how shockingly unfunny they are.

Is it just me?

I listened to suchlike at a very tender age (my ear pressed to the speaker of my coal-powered crystal set) and loved every minute of them. I don't really want to hear them again, though.

<Gallops off in all directions.>

The only 1940 radio(wireless) programme which has made me laugh since I matured is Tommy Handley's ITMA thingy. Fast and clever: almost modern.

I have a book of some of the scripts of ITMA.

Colonel Chinstrap and Mrs Mopp's dog named 'Uppsey' who was always leaping about so 'Down! Uppsey' was a frequent occurence.

It appeals to my childlike mind, so there!!!

You've got some good books Bunbun. I've got the complete Blackadder scripts, Beyond the Fringe scripts and The Dagenham Dialogues of Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore which were on the Telly in the sixties. Let's do some swappsies.

Great unanswered question...or not as the case may be.

Will you recognise it when you find it?

It is a fairly well recognised point that to frame a meaningful question that you must have solid beliefs in the information that you currently hold. If that is so can there be a 'great unanswered question' for the greater the question the more that you must know.

Riddle me that, Batman!
