May I add a "happily not"?

50 years after its errection, the Berlin Wall has been reduced to a bad reminiscence: Today all politicians will be out and publicly showing their sense of history, and at noon there is a call for a a city-wide minute of silence - it will be marked by the bells of all churches ringing...

Unfortunately also some neo-nazis think its a good idea to show up, and so I'll be picketing at Bornholmer Street bridge (which is 500 meters from my flat) to disturb their rally.

Well spotted PH (although you are obviously much nearer than me!) I was hoping that others would join in with "Happy's" and of course "Happy Nots" (A bit like the birthdays thread - just because i started it, it is not mine!)

...and the results are: 50 to 400 to 500.

(nazis to protesters to police present, that is. And, unfortunately, one broken nose of a protester who got into a bit of exitement with a police officer.)

A strange sight, indeed, when fifty years after the bridge was blocked, police turn up again and deter everyone from passing from one side to the other, if only temporarily to prevent antifascists and nazis to get at one another. At least today I can be sure that on Monday I'll be sitting again in a tramway passing over the bridge on my way to work, and my only complain will be that it's the first day of school after summer break and the carriage will be packed again.

Is the pirate we should have been talking like a "ARR, Jim lad...." type of pirate or a corporate businessman?

Who would want to talk like a corporate businessman?

If I could just draw your attention to the chart on page three you will notice a direct correlation between financial remuneration and a willingness to talk like a Corporate Businessman. The same chart shows us that a mere 1% are prepared to talk like a CB purely for the reasons of entertainment, and only 0.1% are prepared to listen to it.

Sadly time constraints have prevented us taking the results of the survey into account prior to compiling this presentation, however, moving forward, I'm sure you will join me in agreeing that this information will be of great use to the FForum in both the medium and long term.

Although they are not pies, they may be marked with an 'S' for the sugar on top of them.
