An approaching landmark...

Less than a thousand posts to go until Nextian Chat hits 100000 posts!

How should we celebrate? Unfortunately I sold the bunting and floats to pay for the Treehouse swimming pool...

Either
1> We could papier mache SkidMarks!
Or:
2> We could make a papier mache SkidMarks!

Maybe rice pudding would be more useful.

Wonder if there is a way of messaging old posters and asking them to join in the celebration?

How exciting.

I really haven't been this thrilled since the fall of Sebastopol. Perhaps Geg can smoke some more turnips and we can have barbeque on the allotment. Everybody can bring something and Skidmarks can bake a special pie..
squared or cubed of course 'cos there'll be lots of us there.

If you are planning on papier mache-ing me, you had better start collecting paper now, 'cos you will need a lot of it!

We could print out all the previous posts, and use them to papier mache SM?

Sounds like an awful lot of paper. And then we'd need the glue. Maybe we could just make do with a swimming party at the pool. Someone will have to print directions, though, as I've never managed to find the pool at the Treehouse.

Look for the water. It is near there.

If we shower the old posters before massaging them, papier mache would happen quite naturally.

I'm going to have to remember not to ask Skids for directions again. I do not see anything that looks like a pool near the sink.

You can't papier mache mr Skids! He is unique, there is no way an image in his likeness would come anywhere close to the real thing

LP makes a good point: option 1 it is then.

So that's decided is it? We're going to cover SM in damp posters and then eat some smoked turnip standing by the sink.

You have to admit, we Fforumites know how to celebrate in style.

You forgot the barbecued kippers.

I vote for attempting to make a rice pudding SkidMarks. If we aren't successful in making it lifelike (and according to Lycanthra Pod,that is a futile ambition), we can always eat it. It would probably taste better than papier mache.

It depends on scale. If you want the bigger pool, it is near the other water. I will mark the sink with an "S" so that you know that it is not the pool that you are looking for <makes silly hand gesture>
The pool will easily be spotted as it is marked with an "S" to show that you can go swimming there.

Invasion of treehouse esoterica is threatening the plans for the forthcoming

celebration. ( Have you looked under my chair? There's sometimes a pool there.)

Finds onesself sickened by sudden spontaneous surge in silliness seeping through from other fForum threads. Sensing sibilant susurations will stress significant proportion of the population CR creeps quietly away.

Hi.Old poster here! Has the landmark passed? I was at the 2005 Ffiesta (anyone remember 'Name that Fruit'/quiz?). I foolishly let 'Real Life' intervene for far longer than I should have, but I'm back! I'm rather glad to read of the 2012 Ffestival and have every intention of getting there. I see that Ptolomy and lycandra are still involved, which is great. Hi, Phil and Gill! Btw, do the (potential) ftl neutrinos help with fforganising 'past' ffestivals (festivi?).

According to the stats on the front page we are at 99713. (I suppose that this post will make 99714.)

Name that fruit survived up until the most recent Ffiesta, so I would hope to see it again next year, although I seem to remember a Fforganiser saying that it might survive in a different form.

Regular plural of festival is festivaux.

Dela - I never know whether to laugh at you or not.

This is sort of like watching the car odometer, to see when a the car has gone 100,00 miles. I always miss it. Considering I don't even know where to look for the "front page", I'll probably miss this landmark event too... but I will contribute to it!

<edited to note that I found the "front page">

That's probably because I can't find the tongue-in-cheek smiley...
