Hello Linda, I remember the event very clearly, "It's a pineapple!" still rings in our ears. I'll look out for you.

Name that Fruit will be returning in a slightly different form as Mr Skids says but I'm sure the Wonky Wheel of Fruit will definitely return

Can we all design a pie and get Skidmarks to judge which is the most scrumptious?

As far as I can tell this is what the FForum Landmark Celebration Committee came up with:

"We're going to cover SM in damp posters and then eat some smoked turnip standing by a sink."

On the plus side the smoked turnip will probably tick some sustainability and quite possibly some legacy boxes too, but personally I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of either giant inflatable Batternburg cakes or fireworks.

Now a smoked turnip standing by a sink - that is something that I would like to see! But if the turnip is standing there do you really want to eat it, and then do you just take a bite, or slice a bit off like you do on a cheese platter?

As a Swede, I think I'd better avoid standing by sinks until the Landmark Celebration has passed, in case someone mistakes me for a turnip and tries to smoke and eat me. This precaution will also have the advantage of not having to do the washing up.

We could have a coup - refuse to be ruled the Landmark Celebration Committee.

You'll know when we're there, a nervous looking Swede will give you an even more nervous looking bit of smoked turnip and you'll be covered in papier mache. I am, of course, assuming neither of these is an everyday occurrence for you...

When I logged in just now, there were 99899 posts, so with this post I suppose it's only 100 posts left until we reach it!

A bit like centuries, the Fforum started with post 1 and so ends with the 0. Should we celebrate the end or the start?

Oh, "100 000 posts" sounds nice, so the end, I think. And to take the parallel with centuries/decades/millenia further, we must not forget the champagne.

Suggest celebrating both start and end, which means we drink champagne at the start and Stumpy Scrumpy at the end.

I thought Stumpy Scrumpy was punishment?

Could I just have some hot tea, please? You can't get good British hot tea around here.... they want to serve it ice cold and 90% sugar. Ick.

Ice cold tea is for the best when outdoor temperature exceeds that of the human body
but I find that 2 cups of sugar per gallon is plenty-
much more than that & it becomes syrup...
