Take Three Books

Here's a nice little game lifted from last centurie's New Statesman magazine. Take the titles of three well knownish books and link them together to form a pithy story.

Egg samples...On the Beach; Jaws; A Farewell to Arms.

The Virgin Soldiers; Brief Encounter; Blacks Medical Dictionary

Whiskey Galore; Joy in the Morning; Death in the afternoon.

Three men in a boat; A bend in the river; Watership down.

The Idiot; The turn of the screw; The fall of the House of Usher.

The Road to Wigan Pie; The Wayward Bus; Hunger.

The grapes of wrath, nausea, gone with the wind.
