my sig is from Wizards Brew by Chris Cox, it was worth searching out, a funny book. The quote should have been longer but it ran out of space

I'm readin L U C I in the sky by him at the moment very different but also fun

Hey there,

I was lucky enough to go and see Jasper at the Swindon Arts Centre and was very impressed. As a relatively new reader, I was not sure what to expect from him as a person (although I did love his books!!). However, I thouroughly enjoyed the evening in general. He came across as a very friendly person, and stuck around for quite a long time after the show to do book signings and chats. This is a man who truely respects his fanbase!!

Hi Matt, welcome to the Fforum! We're all a bit crazy here, but you'll get used to it.

Those who know me will be aware of my fondness for understatement. ;-)

Sarah, I fondly agree with you, on every point...except the "you get used to it" part. It's more the "brain cells responsible for recognizing sanity die off from lack of use" part.

Welcome Mattie me laddie! *oooohhhh fun to say* and Sara of course. Andrea, where DID you get your sig? And why does it stop at a comma? Questions questions...

hi Emma, welcome Matt

I explained about the sig somewhere further up this thread, when I get round to it I'll find the quote again and add the rest that wont fit into the sig. It's from Wizard's Brew by Chris Cox, I'm reading his L U C I in the sky at the moment, completly different but excellent.

Someone mentioned this guy somewhere I thought it was here but no one has claimed responsibility, I think I need to find out if he's done more

I hereby admit to having mentioned Chris Cox, and with great enthusiasm! I think I posted something while I was reading his book, and said that if it stayed as good as this I would recommend it. Well, it stayed good... I'm surprised I didn't recognise the quote, but then I have been really tired just recently.

Hello Matt, and Hello Sara! Welcome to the Fforum, the only place on the internet to contain a health warning (may contain nuts).

I am the other Sarah, in case you hadn't guessed.

Don't you think "contains nuts" is nearer the mark? ;-)

Hmm, yeah, I guess so. It's like the label on the peanuts that said 'Warning: May contain nuts'. Like that wasn't obvious...

Do you think we need extra warnings for the Dodos and the Penguins?

well, technically, peanuts are not nuts at all...they're legumes. Some people are allergic to nuts but not peanuts (like me) so hence the "may contain nuts" thing actually TECHNICALLY rings true! LOL

FYI I can eat almonds just fine but walnuts and pecans are BAAAAD news! So I always look for that nice little label. It saves me massive doses of antihistamine and a bad rash for the next week.

Minsky says never mind the dodos and the penguins, why doesn't _he_ merit his own warning?

When I replied, "Because you're a big soft affectionate purry person really," he was not amused.

Nuts could be debatable, but obviously some *crazy* people hang around here...
