YAY!

I've just checked 'what's new' and discovered that next year we'll get the second Nursery Crimes and then in 2007 the 5th Thursday Next!!!

I've started The big over easy yesterday, and even though many characters are passing me by (I blame it on my mum, who didn't tell me english stories ;)), it's being great :))

I knew there had to be another TN book. If I remember correctly she says that she saves the world 8 times and defeats 3 of the Hades clan in one of her memoirs....

Good news....

I am so excited we're going to see Thursday again. After #4 I thought Jasper had ultimately finished with the character, but it'll be great to see her back in action. Yay!

Who'll give odds on:

1) a Next / Spratt team-up in TN5?
2) guest appearance by TN in Nursery Crimes2
3) guest app. by Spratt in TN5
4) mutual guest appearances
5) someone referring to eating cake in a reply to this

I'll bet one slice of imaginary cake on a mutual TN/Spratt appearance....

(If memory serves me right, there were quite a few mentions of "The Eyre Affair" in BOE)

Best Regards, (and sorry for the long absence!)

I think they'll stay fairly seperate. Intertwined but out of the same book. You can't have both heroes in one book (I think).

"If I remember correctly she says that she saves the world 8 times and defeats 3 of the Hades clan in one of her memoirs...."

She saved the world twice, and killed Phlegthon & Aornins in chapter 13 of Something Rotten. Get with the program man!

[/bullpoo]

I'm guessing there'll be some little cross references of the sort we got in BOE. Nothing world shattering but enough to go "ooh, look"

"She saved the world twice, and killed Phlegthon & Aornins in chapter 13 of Something Rotten."

Did I miss something? There doesn't seem to be a chapter 13 of Something Rotten....

What?!? Maybe you have a defective copy.

(Actually there isn't and I made the above up. Which doesn't mean it's not true)

That and it being in chapter 13. And it not really being something to miss. And even I'm not silly enough to post that kind of spoiler so flagrantly.

I'll try and only do it when I really want to scare the nads off you lot.

Thursday would have to age about 20 years to appear in a Jack Spratt story. And JS would be pretty young to appear in a TN story...

* Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't read Something Rotten *

unless The Very Holy Fforde plans to write about TN's whole life until she becomes her own Nan * brightens up considerably at the prospect*

Wasn't the next TN supposed to be about Samuel Pepys?

TNpi (between TN3 & TN4, but yes, the next one) is allegedly going to be "The Great Samuel Pepys Fiasco". Whether it actually has anything to do with Samuel Pepys remains to be seen.

JeniDe - she *does* appear in a Jack Spratt story, albeit briefly and not mentioned by name...
