Stuff I want you to like.

This is my niece Rainy McMaster and her friend Geva Downey performing (as Haunted Love [www.youtube.com] ) their first hit video "Librarian", from about six years ago.

I like it. You might too.

Is it as good as my avuncular-biased opinion truly believes? Is all their stuff (Rainy's voice in particular) as unique as I feel it is?
Answers on an engraved 16 oz gold brick to... oh, Moe's tavern.

Add a reference to any music you like and with which you have a family association to this thread. Or not. Do something else if you want. Have a drink. Play with a yo-yo. I just did, after a ... 50 year break. I'm still bloody brilliant at it. I made an eight year old jealous. Watch it. You might need these little victories yourself one day, when you're as old experienced as I am.

OB, I didn't want to rush into replying before the rest of the talented, knowledgeable and musically discerning ffordians had hastened to add their plaudits and acclamation.

<Pauses to allow passage of passing tumbleweed.>

Umm... anybody?

OK, I'm biased, but I would very much like to know what others think. this is my favourite niece doing well something that she does... well.

Thanks for your enthusiasm, OB.
For the rest of you:

Damn, it's good. Damn, it's good. Damn, it's good. Damn, it's good. Damn, it's good.

Since you all seem to be damning it with faint praise, I thought I'd praise it with faint damns.

I'll just go and stand in the corner now.
Edited because I damn well felt like it.

MistyCat,

you have every right to be supportive of your niece!
It was not damning with faint praise.

Our local bands include or have included The Ting Tings, The Beatles, Freddie and the Dreamers, Grimms, The Verve, Hermans Hermits, Phil Lynott(!), Elbow, The Smiths, Stone Roses, Joy Division and George Formby.

Of course we have to apologise for Oasis and Simply Red.

SM,

Never apologise for something over which you have no control.

Or did you?

No-one should ever have to answer for Simply Red. But everyone knows that Oasis is named after the Swindon icon. Unbelieveable now, n=but people used to travel from all over the country to got here in the 1980s.

I lived in the UK in the 1980s and I DIDN'T go to Swindon.

Yesterday's announcement on my niece's Facebook:

"My husband is going to have a baby, and I'm pretty sure I'm the mother."

Yes, I'm going to be a Grand-uncle.

Will the baby know who's who?

Will the baby want to know who is who, and why?

The baby has the blood of clan MistyCat.

It will be born knowing who's who, what's what and when the why trumps the how.

It may need some help with the Oxford comma, though.
