End of year 2012
Posted by: bunyip (---.plain.net.au)

Evening all,

Anyone got a prediction on what will be the natural disaster for this end of year? (Loony Americans with guns don't count)

I wish all fforumites the best of all possible festive seasons and leftovers.

I prefer to think of the time being 'the festival of the perigee' but the animal liberationists will not give me any peace until I tell them where I have got the poor beast confined.

So as the days change their lengths, and the moon still manages not to fall on us, bye bye for now.

I hope it's not the lesser spotted and herbaceous perigee you have imprisoned. They're protected, you know.

End of year natural disaster - the Sydney Opera House will be renamed the Sydney Hip-Hop and Rappers' Palace.

Here, have some leftovers. (Tastes like fried Perigee.)

My Mayan friend has told me not to worry about any end of year disasters this year. He says that he is certain that nothing of note will happen between the 25th and 31st.

"Hey, Tonalpohualli! Me and the boys are off to skull a few. Stop carving that calendar and join us!"

"Thanks, Nahuatl! I've just about reached 2013, but I guess if I don't finish today it won't be the end of the world. Let's drink!"

Idea shamelessly stolen from a cartoon.

The world supply of Cheesy Puffs will be destroy in a freak accident involving an unmanned drone mistaking the factory as a site for Weapons of Mass Destruction. Yellow sunsets are seen for many days afterwards.

Sorry for having been unresponsive but we have been supervising our perigee as it only mates when the moon is full, as opposed to the humans, and we are as close to the sun as we can get.

If all goes well we will have another perigee in 12 months, but if there are problems we shall probable have a less attractive apogee in six months.

Watch this space.**

God got it wrong!

In playing billiards with the soolar system he missed the white by about 6 weeks, even though he sank the brown in the Soviet Onion again, and the canon missed the target by about 40,000km.

Is it coincidence that every hundred years God takes a potshot at Russia?

Why is it so?
