On the banks of the Metaphoric River
Where the nervous wrecks of arrowroot quiver.

Can you hear the glaring errors scream?
Can you see the moonbeams slip upstream?

There's a hungry ghost tippling Tahiti Tingle.
Can you add two more lines to this little jingle?

The banks on the side of the Metaphoric river
Are steep and forbidding, they will make your soul shiver.

The river flows coastwards, almost to the brim of sea,
But then it flows back inland, and ends up in Lake Simile.

The banks on the side of the Metaphoric river
are raking it in hand over fist

We wish the Lord High executioner was here
he'd put them on his list!

Now I know I should've been clearer,
When I started this poem herer.

I didn't mean to imply
That the river running by,

However Metaphorically mystifying,
Should figure in all the clever versifying.

So once again with even more tingle
Add two more punnish lines to this jingle.

A metaphor's just like a river you know;
once it has started, you can't just shout "no".

A metaphor's is a kind of simile
just dressed in posher terms

it's not just that you have an itchy bum
it could be you've got worms.

And if the worm were to turn,
It'd surely make you squirm.

As the river goes through Xanadu
and all the roses blooms cram

I see the world through fairy shades
And stand waiting for a tram
