well as it says only technobabble allowed.

Specifically I'm looking for a new pair of headphones having lost my etymotic ER6's. Does anybody have a scooby about the new Shure range? maybe the SE110 or even the 210's!!! (ooh the wallet pain!) or any recommendations around that kind of level?

I stopped using cans when my Stax electrostatics died all those years ago.

Now that we have given up hi-fi in favour of lossy, compressed, one-note-bass-playing but portable digital systems, I find the Sony on-ear range not too irritating. Similarly an old pair of Senheisser HD414s produce more music than most modern designs. Neither are much good at isolating the listener from surrounding sounds, though.

Senheisser has good bass levels usually- not all highs, so good for depth of sound.
