I've got all of them - well, all the Discworld, anyway. I think my favourite is possibly "Reaper Man".

(Think 'Urgo' song for those of you that watch Stargate SG-1...)

I love Reaper Man as well - Death is by far my favourite character. Such a sense of humour.

Got the lot (apart from the latest, "Wee Free Men", for which I'm going to have to wait until after payday), too... Not sure which one I'd call my favourite, maybe "Thief of Time".

Hey Simon, that's the ONE I have...just haven't gotten around to reading it. It didn't grab me in the first 3 pages and I kept falling asleep...so I need to wait to read it until I'm coming down from a caffeine binge LOL

The Washington Post book section had a review of "Wee Free Men"...sounds interesting and rather funny...so I may have to pick it up.

umm another 'me too' here

I own copies of them all ('cept we free men) most in multiples too, yes I'm incorrigable *blush*

My favourite is Reaper Man, it still makes me laugh after many readings.

(ps Jasper is nicer though)

Yes, big Pratchett fan ... have full set including Wee Free Men (crivens!). Favourite? Ooh, erm, Soul Music. I think.

And yes, whisper it gently, but Jasper is nicer ... just as this fforum is nicer than alt.fan.pratchett, which at least three of us here also contribute to. We flame not, neither do we spam. (Sorry ... been round too many churches this weekend ... and watch out for inexplicable bursts of Jane Austen-speak, too).

I have Wee Free Men on loan at the moment (ah, the joys of working in a library) but I haven't read it yet.

I used to have full colection, but lapsed a few years ago. Last Continent was the last one I bought, if I remember correctly. My favourite is Wyrd Sisters - the first one I read - purely for the Shakespeare send-ups. Pyramids comes close for the number of old music-hall jokes...

Hello ilovespike- is that the character or the Buffy vampire ; )

*Hand up* yes me too, my favourite is Guards!, Guards!, Witches Abroad, although Maurice and His Amazing Educated Rodents is for kids I thought it was quite dark.

I've met Mr Pratchett four times AND he lets women sit on his knee to have their pictures taken - one for Jasper to note for next time. (or should that be Next Time)

The last time we met we didn't talk about his books but about a beautiful waistcoat he was wearing with wolves on it. I am now a proud owner of one of the same.

Thanx everyone for the gr8 welcome.

Nice to see that I'm not the only Discworld fan here. My favourites are Soul Music, Mort and Theif of Time. Anything with Death and Susan in it are Fforde-fabulous. (okay, sad try at a witty word, i know.)

By the way, just got myself a new email. I'm now aornishades. No one has any idea what I'm going on about.

from me

P.S Ilovespike is soooo not off buffy- Spike Stoker, people!

Lycanthra _
Does "one of same" in that context mean a waistcoat decorated with wolves, or an actual wolf?

Brain in gear Gill! Sorry Simon, I meant the same design with lots of wolves on it. I got it from a stall at our Folk Festival in Chippenham. They hold a "Stick and Bucket" dance contest and he judges it,. It seems Terry Pratchett got his from the same lady the year before. he lives near Salisbury in south Wiltshire. We attract all sorts of unusual things around here, especially crop circles this time of year.

If it was a real wolf, the fur would get up my nose, plus it would be a bit heavy to carry.
