er....perhaps the phrase 'private box' wasn't too well-chosen. That was an honest mistake !

And how unlike me to write something like that and not realize !

ooh that made my day, and I've only been working since 5.30 this morning.

"So what are you doing arsing around on the Internet?"

"It helps keep me sane."

(Reads.)

(Reflects.)

(Pauses.)

"_This_ helps keep you _sane_?"

"Well . . ."

For a given value of "sane"...

"This was willed where what is willed... can get rather silly."

It provides a handy benchmark of sanity against which you can compare yourself, at any rate.

Interesting bit of graffiti seen in Birmingham approx. five hours after the city of culture was announced - 'Scouse b'stards steal city of culture nomination'

So, no stereotypes there then...

Guy, you are working one heck of a lot too hard, you know. Don't go doing yourself a mischief!

Well it's all done and dusted now -- hooray, a weekend!!

Beer, music and mud here I come (there's a free festival on the Common in the centre of Cambridge today -- rain is traditional)

Unusually cultured grafitti on now-demolished low-rise flats in Sheffield:

Amore conquit omnes

(Not sure about my spelling of the second word, but you know what I mean)

H'mm... should have been "amor vincit omnia", but I still reckon they get marks for trying!

Bel - they do a wonderful Chicken Tikka Bhuna Balti (which I order a bit hotter) with excellent Garlic Naan in my local Indian - ooh I'm getting hungry now.

I don't mean to diss the purveyors of Indian cuisine in my area, they do fine work. It's just my favourite mushroom balti dish isn't quite the same. I got my curry experiences in Birmingham, mostly around where B'ham Uni is, in Selly Oak. I think most of the owners there are Kashmiri, whereas the restaurants here tend to be more central Indian.

Actually I'm cooking some Keralan food tonight, my current passion. Some deep fried mushrooms and a spinach and tomato curry cooked in yoghurt, with lots of dried chillies. Yum.

If there's a fforumite picnic sometime I will be happy to supply deep fried mushrooms and tomato chutney. I would offer curry, but I think cold curry is a bit of a "specialised" taste. :)

I could bring some Deadly Chocolate Pudding. It isn't really deadly (I have survived!), but it is quite dangerously addictive... yum...
