Have you ever sent flowers? Received flowers?

I sent a bouquet last week to my gf, and yesterday I received a huge one of 12 roses!!!! Amazing!!!!!!
I really loved it :)

The Dodo has never bought me flowers - he once picked some wildflowers for me but that was about 15 years ago during our first weekend together (how romantic!)

However, he does have his 'oh bless' side - eg, I'd had a rotten morning at a table top last Saturday and had only taken £40 so when he went out that afternoon, he bought me a packet of sweetened dried bananas, knowing I loved them. And he always pays for the holidays in France and lends me the money so I can fly at short notice over to my friend's 30th birthday party in Norway and.............

That's very romantic, and I have sent a rose to someone I was courting (and much good it did me).

But were Claire to get a big bunch of flowers at home from me I know exactly what would happen ... I'd get a phone call from her saying, "All right, what have you done now?" And she'd be right.

my husband isn't big into getting me flowers...he says they die too quickly and why would I want dead and stinky plant matter hanging around the house. Although, he does acquiesce at certain times and buys a bouquet here and there.

I got him good one time though...he was working in Chicago on their 911 computer system (emergency dispatch for those 'feriners out there) and we had been dating for about 2 months, with him traveling back and forth between Chicago and DC every other week. I decided to send him flowers for Valentine's day. But he hadn't told anyone at work that he had a girlfriend because they were all big into busting each other over significant others. So when this huge basket of flowers shows up in the office for him, the questions started flying...he said he got grief for it for almost 6 months! Objective Met! LOL

I had to resort to buying myself flowers as hubby doesn't see the point!!! Odd, seeing how romantic he can be on other random occasions...

Michael gives me flowers often, well often enough to be special, i wouldn't want it every month.

on my birthday 2 years ago he send me a massive bouquet, one of those with a glass vase and everything to my work. And it wasn't an office work... I was working in the bookshop, so everybody, colleagues, customers, saw me getting that massive bouquet.

And flowers die... I like them but I prefer gestures like giving me a trip to Edinburgh for my brithday last year, or a T-shirt that says "I love my geek" coz he knew i thought it was cute, or a PCIMCA (sp?) card for my laptop so we can play computer games together...

erm.... flowers die.... trips have the validity of 'one time' :p

(not diminishing it, they're great, but I just thought the thought process funny)

I was once given a boquet of chocolate roses by a man I was dating. Sadly, I'd only eaten one of them before the dog got into them, ate the rest, and then threw them back up in various spots on the beige carpet. I was unamused for all sorts of reasons....

I've bought flowers quite often, and not just for lovers. I've done the whole bunch of red roses thing, and used to buy one gf flowers every weekend - which convinced her friends I was actually a nice chap. Shame I wasn't really...

I'm not so big on the whole, 'buying' flowers malarky, not seeing as how there's all these free one's lying around. And it turned out that no-one else had ever given my g/f flowers before, so she was pretty impressed, yay me! Still not as romantic as the signed TEA I gave her tho....

I was once accosted whilst exiting a supermarket by a chap I had noticed buying choccies whilst in there. He just gave them to me, said I looked very attractive and left - that was it.

My hubby gives me potted plants for birthdays and spec. occasions - that way they don't die quickly. It's more like a long agony... :)

Long agony... yes i'm not known for being good with plants, last summer went to Kew gardens and bought a little Venus Flytrap that died after 2 months... and Michael's mum gave me a Poinsettia for Christmas that died quite quickly as well, at least 2 or 3 weeks before Michael's.

Anyone wishing to romance me with flowers is welcome to do so. ;-)

Nobody's ever bought me flowers. :(

But then, I've never bought anyone else flowers either... I think it would come under 'stalking' in the police eyes perhaps...

Nobody's ever bought me flowers either. (Not that I'd want them regularly, and wouldn't have anything to put them in, anyway, but it's the *thought*!)
