Ok, 'fess up. what musical instruments do you/have you played ? What kind of bizarre orchestra could the fforum produce ?

I played the recorder at middle school, but then who didn't ?

I had piano lessons between the ages of 10-12. My first tutor was an old dear who charged 2s 6d for a lesson, nearly 10 years after decimalization.

Later, I was part of the village handbell ringing group. My bells were in the bass clef. We played in the church, at fetes, and on Boxing Day, we toured around various homes, getting fed with mince pies and sherry. After three sherries, we could play 'Good King Wenceslas' at the sort of speed a heavy metal guitarist might have envied.

I also learnt guitar a few years ago, but haven't played much recently. Highlight of career was playing in UNI ceiliedh band a couple of times.

I play nothing, never learnt and I think i'm the least musical person ever...

I played xylophone/marimba/bells and various other percussion instruments. I also played right hand only for keyboard for pep band when we couldn't travel with the xylophone. I marched with bells (mini-xylophone made out of metal).

And I played trumpet in 6th grade band. But it was making my front teeth bend inward, so I had to quit.

And I did a lot of choir. anywhere from 2nd Soprano down to 2nd Alto depended on where the hole was.

Um. I can sing. A bit.

I played the flute in school, and later could do a few tunes on a six-hole bamboo flute, but I've since lost my embrochure. I can sort of play recorder and ocarina, but haven't practiced enough to be good at either. And I have a plucked psaltry lying about somewhere that I can play about 3 tunes on.

I do sing. In fact, I'm in a small group that does medieval and reniassance polyphonic stuff.

Only the kazoo, and I'm not very good at that... (OK, I used to play the triangle back when I was in primary school, too, but does that really count?)

Of course triangles count! It's the only instrument I can manage, I gave up with the obligitory recorder and I can't get any sound other than 'cat with it's tail stood on' out of Jenny's saxaphone.

I had piano lessons for about 6 months when I was a kid. I've just bought myself a piano with the aim of improving but Eddie's better than me at the moment...

I have vaguely learnt the recorder, the piano and the guitar, all to a "Well, I can play a scale" level. Hmmm.

Do something pretty while you can...

Eh - recorder, clarinet, piano, voice and timpani - though not all at the same time! Gave up most of them after leaving school but did a little time singing in a band.

Did hope for a clarinet for my 40th but no joy - so I'm going to buy one for my 41st in September - my mother has dug out my old 'learn to play the clarinet' books so the incentive is there!

Mum always wanted a banjo so my brother bought her one for Christmas!

The only thing I can play is the fool.

Seriously... I can sing. Alto, even tenor at a stretch.

I can play guitar pretty well, nothing flash but pretty solid nonetheless. I started off playing bass, and we got offered free studio time so can't have been that bad.

This is the work of an Italian narco-anarchic collective. Don't bother insulting them, they can't read English anyway.

I sing Soprano, and it's not my fault it's raining, honest.

I also play clarinet, piano, recorders of about three different sizes, ocarina, drum kit, saxophone and most of the orchestral percussion section. (Yes, that includes the triangle *and* the timpani. Gotta love the timps. My favourite instrument by far - you can make all that noise with them!)

There's a hole in my creativity bucket and it's all leaked out.

Bass guitar, normal guitar, and all the piano I can vaguely remember...I love zee musik.

I sing, but mostly really really quietly and off in a corner.
