I found "Kugelmass" in "Fierce Pajamas: A Collection of New Yorker Humor."
If you're curious, you can find him there.

Cool, what'd you think of it Emma? Good story, eh? (and gee, isn't Madame Bovary's name Emma? LOL)

Thanks for finding that for us!

The Princess Bride is an excellent film - one of my all time faves. Talking of films there's an Arnold Schwagarzergderrnerggger film called 'Last Action Hero' where some film-jumping occurs.

The only Woody Allen film I liked is the one set during the depression where the film hero comes to life because he sees the same woman sat in the cinema showing after showing - know it starred Mia Farrow and Jeff Daniels (I think it was him) but can't remember the title.

Its "The Purple Rose of Cairo" and for a WA film its quite sweet and has very touching moments in it. I like it very much too.

no problem :) I'm afraid my brain is stuffed with catalogues of film titles, from Woody to mandarin/chinese films.

I like that film, too. I'm not a huge Woody Allen fan as I find him a bit too neurotic for my taste, but Purple Rose of Cairo and Kuglemass are a couple of fantastic stories...lots of fun.

I saw Woody Allen's musical film set in the 20's - think it was called 'Bullets Over Broadway'. Very funny and delightful send-up of arty writers.

Twila--

Yes, there is some history there. That was my mom's idea anyway-- but mostly I'm named after Emma Peal of the Avengers...LOL
Loved the story, although made me start thinking of bookjumping in REALLY SCARY terms...
