what's new page

the new colours there are quite blinding... and not discreet at all!

Mr. Ff should know we check this from work and can't have a bright yellow page on our screens!

(and there are quite a few new things, but too many to write in here...)

I'm a bit perplexed myself. Wednesday night at home I saw the usual page, but with several new things added including the Canadian appearances.
Yesterday at work, I again got the old page, with the latest update being the May12 one saying the contest had closed. I'm still getting that page now, depite reloading and refreshing. Haven't seen anything yellow.

22nd May 03 Mysterious 'dodo grafitti' from Stockholm...
22nd May 03 +++ Fforde Fflash: Not so much 'What's New?' but what is here already but has not had any links to it. This is a Flash Movie, written by me and actualized by Mari on Flash MX - a staggering accomplishment - I still don't know how she did it, nor ever will; Flash to me is like having an egg whisker in your brain. It was designed for a Penguin promotion that didn't happen. Takes a while to download, though - it's quite complex! You will need flash to view it. Enjoy! Intro to the Nextian Universe Movie also: Pickwick's Shocking Christmas Adventure+++
22nd May 03 Giveaway list - UK 2003 postcards announced.
22nd May 03 Four more downloadable desktops for your computer
22nd May 03 Downloadable Bookjackets for web authors, reviewers, etc.
22nd May 03 +++ Fforde Fflash: Hodder and Stoughton have decided, as part of their marketing plan, to 'embargo' all sales of Well of Lost Plots. What this means is that no-one can buy it until the 1st July and all the UK booksellers (we hope) will be promoting/plonking it on their shelves on that particular day. A sort of 'Grand Opening'. It also means we may make a list or two if enough people buy it... +++

these are the new things since the canadian tour... all in yucky yellow background!

At least the yellow wakes you up! But I agree - it is a bit yucky and extremely obvious.

A pale lilac would be soothing on the eyes.....

Meep! And here I thought you were exaggerating...it made my eyes go funny.

And the index page is the same colour.

*tries to leave the office for the night - bye all - and bumps into the door due to yellow blobs in front of the eyes...*

I've got the new page now, and you're right, it's a tad hard on the eyes.

if that yellow is too bright, is the current orange and purple on WN annoying too?

(don't worry, it will be changing with the release of WOLP! which might be even more heinous LOL)

Nope, it's more muted, and not nearly as 'in your face' as this yellow.

i like purple as it's Durham uni colours. Green and white were my college colours and these are perfectly nice too. Yellow was Van Mildert, who could be relied upon to get beaten by a large distance when we raced them, so I only object on aesthetic grounds. Grey college colours were red, as you'd expect....
