Jon: glad that Bob the Dog is returning to full and waggy health.

Guy: sorry you can't make it. :-( However, pictures will certainly be taken, as David is happy to lend me his digital camera and I dare say I won't be the only one snapping away!

My hair has been re-dyed especially for the occasion. Unfortunately my sister didn't take enough care, and so look for the bloke with red ears...

(Skiffle - I'm off out, but is there anything I need to pack?)

I have a sleeping bag, but if you don't mind bringing one of your own, that might be a better idea.
There's a bar-b-q on Sat night, and I've even arranged for a lift most of the way. (I know *you're* pretty fit, but it's a good hour's walk, with a couple of hills in the way; I don't want to be too exhausted to enjoy myself when I get there.)

Hint for dying hair. smear Vaseline around the hair-line and on your ears before you apply the dye. Misplaced dye and Vaseline wipe off quite easily.

Okay, I'll bring mine with me. See you at Sheffield Station at whatever time I said the train was... 1450, I think...

Well, if I'm late arriving at the station - as I probably will be - at least Ben will be late too. Hope I can find the right platform, then Sheffield isn't that big a station. And the hair should be visible across several platforms.....

A table for eight has been booked at Haworth Old Hall for 1.00pm (in the beer garden). Anybody else turns up, you're down the chippy.

In the beer garden? Jon, you're an optimist... did you not know that thunderstorms have been forecast? (They've already had them in parts of Scotland, and there are those here who can confirm this!)

Seriously... thanks for all the organisation and planning. I'll still be bringing my umbrella, though.

I can confirm that I completely missed the thunderstorms yesterday, but that they were very bad, cut off tons of homes, and had the heaviest rain my friend's mum had ever seen, apparently.

Have fun in the beer garden :o) - when I get depressed that I'm at work and not with you all, I'll just think of you sitting out in the rain...

I did check the weather forecast, you know. For here, it has unadulterated sun; for there, fluffy white cloud with sun peeping out.

BBC North has ;

SUNDAY OUTLOOK:
Hot. Mostly dry but a risk of thundery showers later.

(Which begs the question, later than what?) It'll be fine. Trust me on this. After all, when have the BBC ever been wrong?

It'll be fine. I'm confident. In fact I'm so confident I'm going to lard myself with factor 15.

So, what's the final list:
Me
Kate
Eddie
Rob
Jon
Claire
Skiffle
PSD
Sarah

hope that table's got room for another 1/2...

only factor 15 Rob?? If you're really confident, you'd be going for factor 45!

(I go nowhere outside for more than 10 minutes without my 45!)

I think eddie's got some factor 50 somewhere, which is about right for me. I get sunburnt in *yorkshire* for GSD's sake.

You're not the only one! Unfortunately I'm also allergic to sun block, even the supposedly hypoallergenic sort, which is why I shall be sitting in the shade as much as possible (assuming it's not tipping down, of course) and hiding under a very large white sun hat.

I'm currently trying to think of a sensible way to carry the full set of waterproofs, the rubberised shoes, the jumper, the socks, the flashlight and the portable lightning conductor. I'm not a pessimist in any other area of life, but when it comes to the weather I rather make up for it!

I know how that is Sarah...I can only wear the stuff made for babies...thankfully I can at least wear that! If I go without, I burn in about 5 minutes in cloudy weather!

(I'm like Dave...a bit on the ginger side)
