Hello from the Canadian Prairies!
I've just joined because I wanted to share a creature that I've only recently learned the existence of: a book scorpion.
Also known as the pseudoscorpion, or false scorpion.

"The book scorpion, (Chelifer cancroides), 4 mm long, occurs in houses and libraries. It feeds on book lice, carpet beetle larvae, clothes moths, and bedbugs."

A pretty useful arachnid to have around the house, no? I can just imagine it in the Great Library, a tiny predator roaming from story to story looking for prey.
One thing the Britannica site got wrong is that they don't just exist in warmer climates. There are three related species living as far north as the Yukon and northern Quebec. (Syarinus obscurus, Wyochernes arcticus, and M. Brunneum)

Any news on the scorpion hunt?

I've just come back from the south of France. The weather there was "scorpio"

I'll trade you two redbacks and a trapdoor spider for a couple of your scorpions.


Do they eat flies? If so, I will order a few dozen more.


But will they survive crossing the International Date Line backwards?

They're tiny little things, so they probably wouldn't catch normal size flies. More useful for indoor pests like flour beetles... and perhaps adjectivores?
